It's a beautiful day in writerhood, it's a beautiful day for a writer...would you read mine, if I read yours, will you be my writer friend? (Gosh, I miss that guy's wonderful cardigans...) If you don't know whose song I've pirated, you're likely a youngin' or not from the US. Any-who, welcome to Weekend Writing Warriors where writers from all over the globe share eight lines from their published work, or WIP that they are trying to work the kinks out of. Folks travel the internet with the help of a linky tool you can find here, and read and comment on the little snippets.
I have been AWOL the last two weeks, and I left poor Medina up in a ship's crows nest with a scared young soldier from Rasport. Medina is a harpy, not at all your typical harpy by the way. The boy had asked Medina what she was doing, and she told him she was scoping out her enemies and found them running amok. Here's what happens next...
The
boy’s eyes widened. “We were attacked in
the middle of the night. No one knows
how. It was…magic,” he breathed. “Aigerach is filled with magic and monsters. None of us wanted to come here, but the
king…”
“Ah
yes, your king. How did Zelera capture
your King’s heart?”
And that's that...so whatcha think?
To my friends who are trying to complete some writing goals this month, how's it going? I have added a mere few hundred words, but the month isn't over yet! I know my goal is to complete my story this month, and I don't really see that happening in the next six days, but miracles can happen...can't they? I hope you've fared better than I. Have a wonderful Sunday all!
