Today, I thought I'd share a little seventy five word story, hope you enjoy!
“I’m not surprised. I knew this day would come.”
“You knew? How? I was so careful.”
“A woman always knows when her man is cheating…”
He chewed his lower lip. “Honey, your just imagining things.”
“Should have told her not to call the house…she left a message. You didn’t pay her last week.”
He cringed. “God, no! It isn’t what you think.”
She smirked, “So how many boxes of Girl Scouts cookies did you buy?”
LOL, great ending! In our house, the wife gets the cookies, though.
ReplyDeleteThose darn yummy girl scout cookies! They get me every year : )
DeleteYes, I'd be guilty as charged too! I can never say no to those girls outside of our grocery store, or my old students coming into the classroom to ask me!
ReplyDeleteI know, those big eyes pleading. Melts your heart. If they are donating to the troops, now I buy a box for the troops instead of bringing it home : )
DeleteWhat a fun story packed into just 75 words! Well done, Millie... it was as delightful to read as Thins Mints are to eat :-)
ReplyDeleteSidenote: You've been nominated for a Liebster Award! Details can be found here: http://t-says.blogspot.com/2013/03/belated-liebster-award.html
Well, thanks. I'll check out the Award...I'm so excited. Sorry I'm so slow on the uptake. Too many things overflowing in my world right now...
DeleteExcellent use of dialogue to convey lots of layers to the story!
