WeWriWa - Ta da!

And a right tip top of the mornin' to ye.  An' welcome to the Irish edition of Weekend Writing Warriors.  My  McAuthor clan and I are right proud to share eight lines of writing with any fine folk who might step across our bloggy thresholds.  If ye're interested in finding out who we be and what we be writing, and why shouldn't you I dare say, then click this here Link

For this week, I've left my Greek friend Medina behind for a bit, and decided to share a very fun character with you all from my current WIP.  He's a Clurichaun, a close relation to the Leprechaun (but don't tell him that, he can get a wee bit put off if you mistake him for such).  In this part of the story, Ravyn and her mother are tracking down her evil aunt, and are spending the night out amongst the stars.  Ravyn took first watch, and just started to nod off by the fire...

“Baaa, baaaa, baaaaa!”
Ravyn jerked her head up, looking about for the source of the noise.  A large gray sheep came barreling out of the dark trees and into the light from her fire.  She fell backwards as a small man somersaulted from the sheep’s back to land on his unsteady feet before her.
“Ta da!”  He yelled throwing his arms up in the air.
“By the Light, who are you?” Ravyn gasped.
The little man swayed on his feet for a moment, but managed to stay afoot by leaning against his wooly ride.  He swept a little red feather cap off his head and flourished an overly theatrical bow,“Moz folks call me Hiz, hic, Nibz.”

    1. Some faerie folk can be downright cantankerous whilst under the influence...but Hiz Nibz is a bit of alright : )

  3. HichicNibz is it! or maybe just "His Nibz"? :D

You have a knack for terrific characters, MIllie. Including that longsuffering sheep. :)

    1. Why thank'ee kindly miss! When His Nibs popped into my head, I knew he and I would be great friends. I have noticed my liquor levels dropping though. Not sure he's guarding my cabinet so much as cleaning it out : )

    1. Thanks, he's not a nasty Clurichaun, he's generally happy whilst deep in the cups. Hope your St. Pat's Day is a wonderful one.

  6. LOL - awesome, Millie. Really did make me laugh out loud! And yeah, faerie folk can be troublesome enough without being drunk so I wish Ravyn the best here!

  12. Good thing Ravyn didn't have to guess Hiz, hic, Nibz's name to cross a bridge or anything like that. They might have been stuck there forever.

  13. Dragons, harpies, and now drunk Clurichauns? Or is he reacting to her "By the Light?"

    1. What can I say, I love all the fantastic creatures. The Light is magic in Aigerach, and sometimes it's used to bless folks or in this case, it's sort of an exclamation of shock...

  18. A drunken sheep ride? That sounds dangerous. So does that bow--I'm amazed he kept his feet. Funny snippet, hope he doesn't turn out to be a mean drunk!
