Oh WeWriWa, Oh WeWriWa, how much I love thee, WeWriWa! I am so excited for Sunday to roll around. Even if I can't get myself connected to my writing life any other day of the week, Sunday comes, and I'm in the best of both worlds, I am the author and sharing...and the reader and devouring wonderful literary works of art! If for some strange reason, you have no clue what I'm talking about, click the link here and find out all the details and see the many amazing authors who are sharing snippets of their work, eight sentences at a time.
Last week, Ravyn was still trying to save her skin, and pondering who could be responsible for stealing the egg.
“Oh,” Ravyn
exclaimed, piecing together the puzzle.
She put her hands to her lips, staring off in the direction of Aigerach.
Golden eyes stared
deep into blue. “Oh? Have you just remembered where you left my
egg?” she snarled.
“Oh, great dragon,
I think inadvertently it is my fault your egg is missing. But, I swear to you on my father’s throne I
didn’t take it. I am Princess Ravyn of Aigerach...years ago my aunt bound my father, King
Bryant and my mother, Queen Lareina in the Darkness.”
I hope you all have a fantastic day! I am working on creating a haunted house for my daughter's school, and have promised to take the child to the Renaissance Faire for a few hours as well. This may tie me up a bit today, so if I do not make it to your snippet today, I will find the time over the next week. You can bet your sweet bippy!
So Ravyn has an evil aunt. Is she the one who took the egg?
ReplyDeleteShe is pretty evil...

DeleteThere are days were 8 is not enough. Great snippet but I want to find out what happens next. :)
ReplyDeleteCompletely agree about WeWriWa btw. It's the highlight of my week too.
I actually slipped nine into eight...so you already got extra : )
DeleteWonder if it is the Aunt or the King/Queen who took the egg...inquiring minds and all that. Guess I'll have to keep coming back each week-end for your next 8 to find out :-) Nicely done. Definitely leaves the reader wanting to read on.
ReplyDeleteYou *might* find out next week. I'm not promising nuthin'. Hate to break promises and all that : ) So glad you keep returning!
DeleteHopefully she can provide answers or at least insight to pacify this dragon's understandable anger! great snippet.
ReplyDeleteI've heard dragons like tasty virgin princesses...I hope your right and she has information that will save her skin : )
DeleteI agree with Heather, sometimes we need more than 8! Great snippet. I'm dying to hear the explanation.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you are enjoying : )
Deleteoh oh. I wonder how Ravyn messed up. good snippet
ReplyDeleteHmm, maybe it's unjustified guilt...we'll see soon.
DeleteRuh roh. That's not a good position to be in, accident or not. I hope Ravyn can convince the dragon to let her fix it!
ReplyDeleteShe's still alive...that's a pretty good sign the dragon is willing to give her a listen.
DeleteWhat a place to stop, Millie! I'd add a comma after her father's name and her mother's name, but that's nitpicky: it's a great excerpt. Lots of questions that make me want to know what's going on! Super job on this. :D
ReplyDeleteI love nitpicky : ) That's how we find those nasty little errors that somehow manage to evade us!
DeleteMan, don't leave it there! I need to know more! :D Another fabulous 8, Millie!
ReplyDeleteThank you Evelyn. I'm glad you are anxious for more : )
DeleteWell this is the beginning of a fascinating story and I love how you gave us just the merest tease of the complicated family history LOL! Great snippet!
ReplyDeleteYeah, the family dynamic between Zelera and Lareina isn't so hot...jealousy causes so much destruction!
DeleteTalk faster! Talk faster! Angry dragon! Zip past the part where it's even a little bit your fault! :)
ReplyDeleteAt least the angry dragon isn't snorting flames at the moment.
DeleteYes, I want to know more now. Great 8.
ReplyDeleteThanks, glad to hear it.
DeleteI always like an evil aunt thrown into the mix :D
ReplyDeleteShe's pretty much a beast!
DeleteIntriguing... What does that have to do with the egg? Hope she comes up with something good, or it's curtains for her!
ReplyDeleteHopefully her explanation helps her out : )
DeleteShe's held an angry dragon at bay - hope she can figure out where the egg is.
ReplyDeleteI think she just did : )
DeleteBound in Darkness?! Don't leave us hanging there! *needs to know more* Great 8 :D
ReplyDeleteYay : ) Thanks for swinging by Karen!
DeleteSnippets are great but also frustrating. I'm just getting into it and it's over.
ReplyDeleteThere's more to follow in the weeks to come : D
DeleteAnd a culprit and potential villain emerges! I'm curious to see how the dragon will react to that.
ReplyDelete(Sorry for the late return of last week's comment!)
