Welcome to my eight sentences from Return of the Crown. I have joined with writers from around the globe, each Sunday, to share just a little morsel of writing for your literary palate. Check out other writers at WeWriWa for some savory bites. There's something to satiate near every appetite.
This week I take up where we left off last week, Ravyn is still pleading her case with the dragon. If you need to refresh your memory please click Right Here!
“The King and
Queen are dead, Zelera is the Empress
now. Even we dragons know the story.”
“My parents are
very much alive, as am I. My mother cast
a spell of protection and invisibility over me when Zelera attacked us. Now, that spell is unraveling, and I’m trying
to get back to Veris to rescue them.”
“A quest-to return the crown. Noble.
But what has this to do with my egg?”
If these snippets are just aren't enough to fill your craving for fantasy, for $2.99 you can spice up your Kindle with Ravyn's adventures by clicking this link.
I hope you all have a delightful Sunday. I'm looking forward to relaxing, with my feet up, and teasing myself with just a slice of this story and a snack of that one...and a bit of that teaser too!
Yes what indeed, enjoying the exchange between them. Rich and exciting snippet.
ReplyDeleteI really like the dragon, keep these coming, I'm becoming addicted!
ReplyDeleteBoy, that dragon has a one-track mind! Though that's understandable. Awesome story, and a wonderful eight!
ReplyDeleteSo the spell of protection was actually cast over Ravyn *and* her parents? Dragons, magic, fought-over kingdoms, what's not to like! :-D
ReplyDeleteI love this dragon's voice...though I wouldn't want to be the one talking to it. ;D Great snippet Millie!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a fantastic premise. I absolutely love it. Well done!
ReplyDeleteI have the exact same question, what does this have to do with the egg?
ReplyDeleteIs the question a non sequitur?
ReplyDeleteNice 8!
I look for my egg every day. All gone. Delightful eight, Millie.
ReplyDeleteShe better talk faster, not sure how patient dragons may be LOL! Excellent excerpt!
ReplyDeleteVery creative world you have here - kudos
ReplyDeleteSo now she's won a bit of the dragon's respect, it seems. Can't wait to see what happens next! Well done, Millie! :)
ReplyDeletei really love your voice here as you write the conversation with the dragon, it feels so epic!
ReplyDeleteInteresting concept! Poor dragon must be quite upset about the egg.
ReplyDeleteWhere oh where is this poor dragon's egg? Good snippet.
ReplyDeleteI'm a suck for good dialog, very nice!
ReplyDeleteDid Zelera (or her people) take the egg? More, please!
ReplyDeleteI love that the dragon isn't going to be distracted from getting her egg back. LOL Super 8
ReplyDeleteWell, at least the dragon's listening...
ReplyDeleteHaha! A one track mind--the egg. And her maternal instinct is a nice touch. You've teased me long enough, Millie. I just bought Return of the Crown. :-) It might take me a bit to get to it. I have to finish a couple I've agreed to review. :-)
ReplyDeleteOoo, invisibility! Love it! Too funny about getting the convo back to the egg! Great 8. :D
ReplyDeleteWhat indeed. Oh did the egg become invisible too??? Good for you leaving me with unanswered questions so I can try to figure them out. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm still loving your dragon's voice.
