The sound swirls in
my ears, pshew, pshew, pshew, pshew. A grin plasters my face. I gaze at the monitor as a tiny heartbeat
confirms the life cradled in my belly. My husband’s hand covers mine and I look
into his sparkling eyes. Is it a boy? Is
it a girl? Who cares, our baby is
perfect and healthy. Pure magic,
wonderful peace. We are now mother and father…we are family.
Oh going through that right now. My daughter is due on May 18th. It will be my 2nd grandchild. Exciting times!

Something so magical about that time...when the miracle is just starting to dawn on you, how magnificent and wonderful the whole thing is!
DeleteMy baby will be twenty six so it has been a lot of years but those are the times I won't forget. I now have grand kiddies and was with my daughter when my grand son was born. It was truly amazing.
ReplyDeleteIt is such a miracle...the whole thing!
DeleteVery sweet. That is an amazing moment, isn't it? You did a great job of capturing the moment and the thoughts.
ReplyDeleteThanks, I remember each ultrasound with each of my girls...it is magic!
DeleteBeautiful post, Millie! So amazing! My daughter (and first) was born in 1980. I had no sonogram. My middle child, son, was born in 1982. I had a sonogram. It was a BIG deal. My baby (son) was born in 1986, and it was pretty much standard procedure. How times change. Everything about becoming a mom is magical... Excellent choice for "M". -)
